Creative Stir Fry Combos

Posted on April 15, 2012

Many people think stir-fry’s all about the wok and a bunch of soy sauce. Sure, tossing together this classic Asian style dish is a great way to go, but you don’t have to stop there. The flavors of a variety of different regions come together in this simple stovetop technique. Try one of these favorites or follow the beat of your own drumstick. Either way, you’ll find this quick dinnertime technique will get everyone to the table on time.

Dijon Fennel Chicken: Thinly slice fennel, red onions and FreeBird chicken breast. Sauté in olive oil with salt, pepper and thyme. Stir in a little Dijon mustard and some white wine. Voila!

Spicy Chili Peanut Chicken: Stir-fry sliced FreeBird chicken thigh meat with garlic, green chilies and ginger in superhot peanut oil. Deglaze the pan with some coconut milk, then whisk in peanut butter. Serve over noodles.

Southwestern Chicken Stir Fry: Sear some sliced FreeBird chicken breast in olive oil with onions, pasilla peppers and yellow corn. Season with chili powder, cumin and a squeeze of lime juice. Serve with black beans, guacamole, salsa and fresh tortillas.

Pan Seared Cacciatore: Slice up FreeBird chicken thighs, mushrooms and green and red bell peppers, then sauté in olive oil with some oregano. Deglaze the pan with red wine and a little bit of tomato paste and serve over warm polenta or your favorite pasta.

Sesame Chicken Broccoli: Heat up sesame oil and sear your sliced FreeBird chicken breast. Add garlic, ginger and broccoli. Finish off with a little bit of soy sauce (hey, we never said it was off limits!) and enjoy over a steaming bowl of brown rice.
